Accessing the Deletion Option

The option to delete an organization is typically found within the Organization Settings page, often in a dedicated ‘Danger Zone’ or ‘Delete Organization’ section:
  • Ensure the correct organization is selected in the sidebar dropdown.
  • Navigate to Organization > Settings in the sidebar.
  • Scroll down to find the section related to deleting the organization.

Understanding the Consequences

Before proceeding, it is crucial to understand what happens when you delete an organization:
  • Permanent Data Loss: All data associated with the organization will be permanently deleted, including voice agents, knowledge bases, call logs, member associations, settings, phone numbers, and any other related information.
  • Irreversible Action: This action cannot be undone. Once deleted, the organization and its data cannot be recovered.
  • Member Access Revoked: All members will immediately lose access to the deleted organization.
  • Subscription Impact: If the organization has an active subscription, deletion might have implications for billing. Check subscription terms or contact support if unsure.

Confirmation Process

To prevent accidental deletion, a confirmation step is required:
  • You will likely need to type a specific confirmation phrase (e.g., “DELETE”) into an input field.
  • This phrase must match exactly what is requested.
  • Read any warning messages carefully.
  • Once the confirmation phrase is entered correctly, the ‘Delete’ button will become active.

Finalizing Deletion

After entering the confirmation phrase:
  • Click the final ‘Delete’ button (often styled distinctively, e.g., in red).
  • The system will perform the deletion process.
  • You will likely be redirected away from the deleted organization’s pages, possibly to a default organization or a selection screen.
  • A confirmation message will indicate the deletion was successful.

Who Can Delete?

Typically, only the Owner role has the permission to delete an organization due to the severity of the action.

Conclusion

Deleting an organization is irreversible and results in complete data loss for that entity. Proceed with extreme caution and only if you are certain. Ensure all necessary data is backed up or transferred before initiating the deletion process.
