Introduction

As your clinic’s processes evolve or integrations change, you may need to remove outdated tools or create new ones based on existing configurations. AlloMia provides options for both deleting and duplicating tools. This guide covers how to perform these actions safely and efficiently.

Deleting a Tool

If a tool is no longer needed or represents an outdated integration, you can delete it.

1. Locate the Tool:

Navigate to the ‘Agent’ > ‘Tools’ section. Find the tool you wish to delete in the list.

2. Initiate Deletion:

Look for a ‘Delete’ option in the tool’s menu or when viewing the tool’s details.

3. Review Association Warnings:

The system will check if the tool is currently linked to any voice agents. If it is, you’ll see a warning listing all the affected agents. Important: Deleting a tool will remove it from all linked voice agents. These agents will no longer be able to use the tool’s functionality during calls.

4. Confirm Deletion:

After reviewing any warnings, confirm the deletion if you wish to proceed. You’ll be reminded that this action cannot be undone.

5. Deletion Process:

The system will automatically:
  • Remove all associations between the tool and linked voice agents
  • Update the voice agents’ configurations
  • Permanently delete the tool from your account

Duplicating a Tool

Duplicating is useful when you need to create a new tool that is very similar to an existing one, perhaps connecting to a slightly different API endpoint or requiring minor configuration changes.

1. Locate the Tool:

Navigate to the ‘Agent’ > ‘Tools’ section and find the tool you want to use as a template.

2. Initiate Duplication:

Look for a ‘Duplicate’ option in the tool’s menu or actions area.

3. New Tool Creation:

A new tool configuration will be created, pre-populated with all the settings copied from the original tool:
  • Name (with a suffix like ‘Copy’)
  • Description
  • API configuration (endpoint URL, method)
  • Request body structure
  • Headers
  • Authentication settings
  • Variables
Note: The duplicate tool is not automatically linked to any voice agents. You’ll need to manually connect it to agents as needed.

4. Modify and Save:

Review and modify the duplicated tool’s configuration as needed:
  • Rename: Give the duplicated tool a unique and descriptive name
  • Adjust Configuration: Update the API endpoint, authentication, or other settings as needed
  • Save: Save the configuration as a new tool
Duplicating saves significant time compared to creating a complex tool from scratch, especially for tools with similar structures but different endpoints or parameters.

Conclusion

Regularly reviewing your tools, deleting obsolete ones, and duplicating configurations when appropriate helps maintain an organized and efficient set of capabilities for your voice agents.
